Which are the 'Best' primary and secondary schools in Kuria East & West districts, you'll love to have your child(ren) in?

I pose this question, to help understand how we regard our learning institutions.
Key here is to name your most preferred school.

However, you are not limited to a number of schools you prefer; your criticism is also welcome as it will help us understand the undoing points and how we can overcome them and better our institutions.

You also have unlimited freedom to name school(s) outside Kuria that you most prefer. What can we learn from them?

Kuria roads devastating

Save for the tiny Migori-Tarime road, I'm made to believe that there is no other tarmac road that runs through the vast Kuria region.

Little can be said of the 'highway' as it serves very few in the region. Most of our people live and commute on very rough roads. Here, 'roads' does not imply many. There are only two key roads one would be proud of in Kuria. The Migori-Masaba-Kehancha-Ntimaru road and the Ikerege-Isebania road.

As I write this, our area representative in the August house otherwise known as Parliament, is back at the roads ministry helm as assistant minister. It is high time he stood up to his roles as MP and minister and give us what is due for us.

Early this week, residents decried the poor roads status...Their pleas were all over the media. Hopefully, someone heard their cry.
Honorable Machage, you have done us much I believe in the two tenures you've been MP for Kuria constituency...There's much more you haven't done. You still got time and resources to. One being the road network. Act NOW.

Leave a legacy...Not a Subaru Legacy of course...It won't like the roads either, if it were to be the legacy you wanted us to remember you for.

Kuria West: Demonstrations over 'move of two wards'

Kuria West constituents have protested against IEBC's delimitation, that moves two wards to Kuria East constituency.

Gokeharaka and Getambega wards are said to have been 'moved' by the IEBC's latest boundaries delimitation process.

Residents say 'taking away the two wards amounts to splitting the Bukira clan' insisting ' the two are comfortable being in Kuria West. Kuria East had earlier been marked to have current 9 wards that comprise of the Bwirege and Nyabasi clans, whilst Kuria West constitutes the Bukira and Bugumbe clans.

Demonstrators marched along Kehancha streets Monday 13th February, causing traffic snarl up. They denounced the IEBC move, accusing Vice-Chair Lilian Mahiri-Zaja of failing to protect their interests. Ms. Mahiri-Zaja comes from the Bukira community.

Kuria MP reinstated at Roads Ministry

Kuria MP Dr Wilfred Gisuka Machage has been reinstated as Assistant Minister, Roads ministry, a position he temporarily lost on accusations of hate speech.

Dr Machage was reappointed after he was cleared by the court of incitement and hate speech charges raised against him and two other legislators in the build up to the constitutional referendum 2010.

Machage was sworn in alongside acting Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet Mr Francis Kimemia, who takes over from Mr Francis Muthaura who resigned from the office on the confirmation of charges of crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the prescence of President Kibaki who congratulated them on assuming their assignments and wished them success in the new assignments.

We too wish him success. Many congrats too in place for his re-appointment.
