Migori: Class 6 pupil kills mate 'joikingly'

A 14 year old class six pupil of Machira Pri. school, Migori went berserk and slashed his friend to death. The two were gathering fodder for cows when thefatal incident occurred.

School head Oscar Nyakwaka, said the two pupils were cracking jokes as they gathered fodder when a joke by one of the friends invited the full wrath of his mate.

The boy used a panga he had and slashed his friend. The deceased's  screams alerted residents who rushed to the area. He died moments later from the injuries sustained.

Area Assistant Chief Silvanus Nyaruba confirmed the incident. He the assailant will be arraigned in a juvenile court to answer to  charges. His mate’s body was taken to Migori District Hospital mortuary.
